Stephen Davies spent 11 years as solo clarinet with H.M.Welsh Guards Band, playing many venues around the world,and having the opportunity to study and practice music of various styles, but specialising in Jazz Saxophone/Flute, and Clarinet.On leaving the Guards, Stephen took a teaching post in Milton Keynes(UK),working with advanced pupils majoring in classical Clarinet and Jazz improvisation.Stephen is in demand as a freelance instrumentalist and composer,specifically for woodwind ensemble music playable by experienced players or groups of mixed ability.The music he has selected for the Sibelius web-site is mainly Clarinet and Saxophone trios/quartets/quintets,plus an example of other large scale works available from this composer.The music offered is tuneful and accessible and above all interesting and practice provoking for any competent groups of advanced players, or indeed teachers requiring music for mixed ability and/or GCSE instrumental performance.
