Stefan Kac

Stefan Kac (b. 1982) is a 2005 graduate of the University of Minnesota where he earned a B.M. in Tuba Performance. He has remained in the Twin Cities as an active freelance performer, teacher, and composer. He is on the faculty of the West Bank School of Music in Minneapolis and performs regularly with several traditional and contemporary jazz ensembles, most notably the Pan-Metropolitan Trio, an innovative progressive jazz outfit consisting of tuba, chapman stick, and percussion (www.panmetropolitantrio.com). He recently attended the 2006 International Tuba Euphonium Conference and was awarded first place in the both Rich Matteson Jazz Competition and the Harvey Phillips Awards for Excellence in Composition (tuba featured in jazz/rock/fusion category). |
