G'day (as we say Downunder),
I'm Yvonne with the accent on the second syllable, please! Raised in Scotland I studied piano with my Grandmother (try finding time to practise when you have a lesson every day!) and Jazz with my Father who was a drummer. Did my first gig at 14 then spent 2 years on vibes with a quintet. In my early 20's I moved to London and after 6 years of intensive work (11 gigs a week) stepped onto a plane for Australia. I've worked in most areas of music including Big Band, T.V., recording, teaching and examining. Sibelius has given me the opportunity to publish what had accumulated in a drawer over 25 years and I'm really enjoying it mostly because my partner, Ron Patrick, is able to supply the arranging/engineering areas I lack. Ron's a Trombonist who also plays other brass and woodwinds. We call ourselves SpinOff Music and our first C.D. "Winds of Change", intended as a sampler of local talent and different styles, emerged as a "swing towards Swing". The second C.D. is on its way for next year.
