John Sawoski began his career as a competition-winning classical pianist. He attended Stanford University, where he received a Music Guild Scholarship, composed music for three musicals produced at Stanford, studied piano with Adolph Baller, and gave many performances including a concerto appearance with the Stanford Symphony. Since then he has worked as keyboardist and rehearsal pianist for numerous first-class theatrical productions, including Les Miserables,The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Disney's Beauty and The Beast (Los Angeles), The Secret Garden (First National Tour), Peter Pan (1997-98 tour with Cathy Rigby), A Chorus Line (with Donna McKechnie), Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah, Annie Get Your Gun, and Once On This Island. He has also played and conducted for Stephen Sondheim's Assassins (Los Angeles Theater Center), and numerous artists including The Leading Ladies (www.TheLeadingLadies.com), Audra MacDonald, Yma Sumac, Mable King, Rhonda Fleming, Tonia Burn-Campbell, Diahann Carrol, J.C. Parrish (The Platters), and tenor Dennis McNeil (2001 Presidential Inaugural and many other concerts) . Mr. Sawoski recently composed music for several films and TV shows. Mr. Sawoski has also appeared as a musician on camera in LA Confidential, The Wedding Singer, Live from Baghdad, Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman, Ink, Family Matters, Frasier, and Will and Grace. He was also featured pianist on the Oscar Mayer Free Fat-Free Ham radio commercial. Mr. Sawoski regularly performs with local orchestras including the Beverly Hills Pops Orchestra, The Orange County Four Seasons Orchestra, The Riverside County Philharmonic, and the Capistrano Valley Symphony. His recent album credits include playing keyboards for Saylor Shin (Korean vocalist and #1 hit songwriter), The Adam Yurman Project (Crown Records, Tokyo), and The Leading Ladies (www.TheLeadingLadies.com), for whom he is musical director and arranger.
