Paul Barker is a UK Music Teacher/Composer who now runs and directs music teaching overseas and has composed and conducted large works and ensembles in the UK, Middle East and Hong Kong. Recent projects have included:
IMAGES OF CHRISTMAS: A Contemporary Christmas Cantata for Youth Choir published by Chester Music/Music Sales -- PARADISE PARK: A Musical for Youth Theatre (Won 2nd place in the International Vivian Ellis Competition in UK 1999) -- CHRISTMAS SPIRITS!: A Christmas Cantata commissioned by the Kassia Women's Choir and premiered at the City Hall in Hong Kong 2005 -- ROCKQUIEM: A Rock Mass for SATB Choir premiered in Hong Kong 2006 -- ACT NOW!: A Choral and Orchestral Anthem commissioned for the opening ceremony of the Hong Kong World Environmental Conference (May 2007) and placed in the Semi-Final of the UK Songwriting Contest 2007 -- MASSive: A sequel to ‘RockQuiem’ using an eclectic range of popular styles set to the traditional mass –- UK INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING COMPETITION (Runner up) with the piece BENEDICTUS from ROCKQUIEM and the Christmas Song ANGELS IN THE WIND (Semi-Finalist).
