Monika Durbin

Monika is the co-founder of the music ensemble Canticle, a non-profit organization that provides live music, at no charge, to people who are in retirement homes, nursing homes, and hospices. Monika holds a Bachelor degree in Music
Performance (flute) from the University of West Florida. She is on faculty at the Hillcrest Baptist Church School of
Music, teaching private flute,
piano, and lever harp lessons. She serves as
Vice President for Programs of the Pensacola Music Teachers Association. Monika rang and toured for 3 years under Dr. Larry
Smith with Carillon, the University of Southern Mississippi's handbell choir. She has been
ringing under Donald E. Allured in BellFest since its beginning in 2003, and has attended the Bay View Week of Handbells in Bay View, Michigan since 2005. She currently collaborates and performs in a flute
and piano duo with pianist Stephanie Womble, and appears
on the latest CD by Celtic band Sweet
Prospect, Cold Frosty Morn.
