Matthew Print grew up in the West Midlands and began composing during the later stages of his musical studies, initially learning to play the piano. He is currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Composition at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London thanks to support from The Drapers' Company Postgraduate Music Award. Before this he achieved a first class honours degree in Composition at Kingston University, London, where he won the department’s composition prize for three consecutive years. Recent works have included a vocal monologue with writer Sarah Courtauld, performed at the Wigmore Hall and a collaboration with London Contemporary Dance School, which the composer also conducted. His composition style is eclectic, drawing on influences from musical theatre as well as the concert hall. |
