John Bowen
Lives in Shropshire, United Kingdom

After education in Cheshire, I took my BA in Music and Latin at Birmingham University, studying composition with John Joubert and Ivor Keys. I have taught music to A-level from 1988 to the present. I am a solo pianist working in both classical and jazz idioms but accompaniment is also very important in my life. I am also a church organist and play the violin and viola and sing in a local choir. I also play piano-accordion, guitar and drum-kit.
As a composer my interests lie mainly in composition for piano (both solo and duet), organ, choir and voice. Current projects include a setting of the Mass and a violin concerto in 12 tone idiom. If you buy my music, I would welcome feedback by email. |
