Harald Gundhus
Lives in Telemark, Norway
 I have been working on the Scandinavian and European Jazz Scene since the early sixties. I'm also a classical trained flutist, but since 1985 i've been working mainly in the Jazz territory. I have studied harmony and counterpoint at the Oslo Music Conservatory. In New York I have studied with Frank Wess(The Basie Band)and George Coleman(The Miles Davis Quintet),and my main influence is out of the modern Bop tradition of the sixties. I like a broad scope of musical styles from Bach to Messiaen, and from Louis Armstrong to Miles Davis.
I have worked and written for The Gustav Brom Big Band, The Prague Radio Big Band,The Norwegian Radio Big Band,The Norwegian Radio Symphony Orchestra well as music for children, the theatre and arranging folk music.
From 2001 to 2003 I have worked with the Royal Norwegian Navy band in Horten as
composer/arranger/producer.
My CD's "Bohemian Nights" and "Don't drop the Bop!" have received acclaim from critics both in USA and Europe.
