Donald Shabkie

Don Shabkie is a composer, pianist, and teacher in Greenville, South Carolina. His works have been performed in many cities in the southeast, and he has composed numerous commissioned works. As a performer he performs his piano solo music, as well as music of composers such as Chopin, Liszt, Scarlatti, and Scriabin. See his bio at www.donaldshabkie.com .

For 16 years, Don has been the music director at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Travelers Rest, SC.

He also performs frequently with Selkie Celtic Band, a group that performs music from the British Isles. Don has written several of the selections Selkie plays, as well as contributing fresh arrangements of traditional Irish and Scottish dances.

He attended Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and finished his undergraduate work at Furman University with a B.M (cum laude) in piano performance.
