I am currently in my third year of a B/Mus in Monash, Melbourne. Until mid 2004 I was majoring in piano, but recieving much encouragement by the composition staff at uni with the completion of No5 (and along with other unavoidable reasons), I have since changed my focus to Composition.
Previously I had been composing mostly for piano and making full use of my large hands (a span of a 12th), though that is changing as I begin to explore other instruments and techniques of composing. As a matter of fact, the more I learn about music, the less I am tending to use Sibelius as my main focus for writing. For example this semester I am writing a midi sequencing piece and electro-acoustic works involving the use of such programs as Digital Performer, Max/MSP and Metasynth. This being said, there are many future compositions I intend to write that will once again incorporate the actual use of notation.
I enjoy listening to my pieces as much as I enjoy playing them and in most cases, my audiences have enjoyed listening to them too. I do hope you enjoy these, especially considering the amount of time, effort and love I invest in these. Also, I would very much appreciate feed back from anyone that decides to print (and play) my music.
N.b. That picture of me isn't normally how I look... but a friend suggested I put it up there for a laugh at the least. :) |
